Arlington Family Connection will host its fifth annual Winter Beach Party on Sunday, February 12 at the Gibbs Gym, located at 41 Foster Street in East Arlington. The party is geared towards kids ages 6 and under, and it will be held from 11am to 2pm. Admission will include pizza, ice cream, refreshments, as well as beach-related crafts, games, and DJ entertainment. The Traveling Tidepool from the New England Aquarium will again join our party, allowing children to handle and observe a wide range of live tide pool animals from local waters Come have fun in the (indoor) sun with your family and friends. Be sure to wear your splashy beach attire (not required) and bring a beach towel for a “picnic.” Admission is $10 per family, up to 5 people (AFC Members); $5 per person, $20 maximum per family (Non-AFC Members).
Two popular Arlington Reservoir family season passes will be raffled off, as well as a variety of other fun and interesting prizes. All raffle proceeds will benefit the Arlington Recreation Department Scholarship Fund which gives local families in need financial assistance to pay for Arlington Recreation summer programs for their young children.
“We are very excited about hosting the beach party again this year,” says Liz Katzman, AFC President. “ It’s nice to see kids and parents having so much fun together and, at the same time, helping local families who need it! We are looking forward to another great community event on February 12,” adds Katzman.
Arlington Family Connection is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that connects families with children age six and under in the greater Arlington area by providing educational and social opportunities for members. Whether new to life with children or to the Arlington area, AFC connects families through a community of over well over 300 member-families.
