I loving refer to it as spoopy as opposed to spooky events embracing the cute, cozy fall vibes. Here's the scoop for events appropriate for kids under 6. I did all the digging around so you don't have to, and mostly I'm posting this so I remember what's available when I need something last second to entertain my toddler. Mahoney Garden Center Haunted Maze (Winchester)
Mahoney’s Garden Center, 242 Cambridge Street, Winchester, MA
The Haunted Maze features two paths: a scary side with spooky thrills for older kids and brave families, and a non-scary side designed for younger children and those who prefer seasonal fun without the fright. A quick exit is available at all times, ensuring visitors can choose the experience that fits their comfort level.

Wilson Farms - Pumpkin Village (Lexington)
Our Pumpkin Village opens THIS SATURDAY, October 11th! Wander through pumpkin houses, explore our Wild West town, and snap some photos along the way. This is the perfect fall activity for all ages, and we're accepting donations to support Make-A-Wish. Join us weekends through October 26th from 11am-5pm
Honk! (Somerville Davis sq - Cambridge Havard Sq)
Parades combining activist bands, community groups, and activist groups have been an important part of our Honk! Festival since it began in 2006. Our 2025 Honk! Parade from Davis Square to Harvard Square will include over 15 bands and 30 community groups. It starts at Herbert and Day Streets in Davis Square promptly at 12 noon, and begins to arrive at Harvard Square around 1:15. Our parade theme since the beginning has been “Reclaim the Streets for Horns, Bikes, and Feet.”

Get ready for a spooktacular afternoon at Monster Mash, a free and family-friendly Halloween celebration in Union Square! Come in costume and show off your spooky costumes in our Halloween Parade.

Halloween on the Hill (Tufts university)
For those of you unfamiliar with Halloween on the Hill, it is an LCS & Tufts Athletics event where local kids from the community come to Tufts in their Halloween costumes to trick-or-treat and hang out with Tufts students! In past years events have included temporary tattoos, festive stickers, and coloring activities, but we are excited to expand our events this year! Children ages 10 and under are invited to show off their Halloween costumes and trick or treat at participating Arlington businesses from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 24. Participating businesses will be listed here.

AFC Too Cute to Spook! @Ready Set Kids (Arlington)

Too Cute to Spook is a volunteer run halloween party partnering with Ready Set Kids in arlington. There will be crafts, and dance party, and snacks! Free for AFC members who are active and ready set kid enrolled families. Otherwise $15 per family. Sign up on our events page. Family Bike Ride - Halloween (Medford Condon Shell to Somerville Assembly Row)
Save the date for the 5th Annual Halloween Family Bike Ride! Featuring community, music, a mostly car free curated ride, bike to bike trick or treating, play and crafts activities. Most people wear costumes. Sometimes even the bikes have costumes.
