ARLINGTON HEIGHTS HOLIDAY STROLL & TREE LIGHTING

Saturday, December 9, 2:00pm-5:00pm
 

The Arlington Heights Community Association (AHCA) in collaboration with the Arlington Commission for Arts and Culture and the Arlington Chamber of Commerce is pleased to present this year’s Arlington Heights Holiday Stroll & Tree Lighting on Saturday, December 9 2:00-5:00pm. Rain date, Sunday, December 10, 2:00-5:00pm.

 

Visitors of all ages are invited to stroll along Mass Avenue from Shattuck Heights Hardware to Maruichi Japanese Food and Deli and view 60+ winter-themed windows painted by Arlington residents in 25 storefronts. Free family fun activities will take place throughout the afternoon. Visit the Chamber website for more info: www.alrcc.org

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS 

2:00 – 5:00pm
 

TOUCH A TRUCK I Touch-A-Truck hosted by the Arlington Fire and Police Departments, joined by Intelligent Labor and Moving and Top Notch Contracting. Kids will be able to talk to firefighters, police officers, and contractors and touch a fire truck, police cruisers, and heavy equipment that will be stationed at the Heights Bus Depot. 

FAMILY GAMES Come play Bean Bag Toss and Candy Cane Ring Toss games outdoors in front of the Heights Bus Depot. 

ARTISTS HOLIDAY STORE AND ARTISANS MARKET - Paintings-Pottery-Fiber Art-Collage- Clothing & Accessories, Jewelry, Photography and Much More!  Roasted Granola Café, 1346 Massachusetts Avenue.

CLASSIC PHOTO-OP with face cutouts of Gingerbread person and a Snowman. Bring your cell phone!

HOLIDAY KIDS CRAFT (ages 5-9) with Tonya Grifkin, local artist and certified art teacher.

“Monkey Makes Mischief in Heaven,” a lively episode of the Chinese folktale “Journey to the West” told with acrobatic Bu Dai Xi puppets and choreography. Come for the show; stay to try out some puppets! (30 minutes, best for ages 5 and up). Wonder Yoga studio, 1305 Massachusetts Avenue.

HOLIDAY CHORAL PERFORMANCES by the PACC All-AGES Singers (from Park Avenue Congregational Church) 

followed by the Arlington High School Madrigal Singers

TREE LIGHTING WITH FREE HOT CIDER AND COOKIES provided by Food Link, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s and ACMi.

High Schoolers in medieval costumes from LARP Adventure Program will be strolling Mass Ave for 

photo ops. (LARP stands for Live Action Role Playing)
